RUPERT, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A man is dead after being hit by a semi-truck in Rupert this morning.

Idaho State police responded to the crash at milepost 52 on Idaho Route 25.

A 37-year-old man from Burley was driving a semi-truck pulling two trailers when he struck a 60-year-old pedestrian, police said.

The second trailer struck the pedestrian as the driver swerved to avoid the pedestrian. The pedestrian died at the scene.

The westbound lanes of Idaho Route 25 were blocked for approximately two hours.
