Tax season is underway, here’s what the IRS is saying
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —Tax season is underway and the Internal Revenue Service is giving advice to tax payers to make this tax season easier for them.
The IRS recommends all people to file electronically and choose direct deposit.
According to the Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service, paper refund checks are 16 times more likely to have an issue.
When you’re done with your taxes you can keep track of your filing by checking the refund status online.
The IRS encourages you to go on their website to see if you qualify for other deductibles since they change each year, “They get on the irs.gov website right on the front page. There is a tab that explains credits and deductions so that they can read about them and know if they qualify for them. There’s a lot of taxpayers that don’t know what they qualify for and it can put money back into their pocket,” Jeanne Rohrer, Media Relations for the IRS, said.
If you still haven’t filed your taxes and need some help the IRS has a list of tax professionals on their website.
