TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Though the Magic Valley Airshow is still eight months away, this year’s headliners dropped in to promote this year’s event.

The world-famous Blue Angels stopped by the Magic Valley Regional Airport as a part of their annual winter visits.

Each year, they visit their show sites, meeting and greeting community leaders, show organizers, and airport representatives to help lay the foundation for the upcoming events' success.

The Blue Angels, headquartered in Pensacola, Florida, are holding practice runs in El Centro, California, to prepare for this year’s shows.

“The pilots down there, the support officers, and maintainers, they are doing two to three flights per day,” Maj. Scott Laux said. “It’ll add up to around 120 practice flight demonstrations prior to the first show of the season. We are working hard, we kind of seclude ourselves out in the desert and just hit it hard here for the next couple of months.”

Maj. Laux said he and the other Blue Angels are excited to bring their skill and aircraft to the Magic Valley Airshow from Aug. 16 to Aug. 17.
