Idaho firefighters on their way to help with California fires

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KMVT/KSVT) — Firefighters from Idaho are going to Los Angeles to assist crews with the number of wildfires ravaging the area.
Captain Joey Sanchez with the Nampa Fire Department said five task forces are deployed to California. He is a part of Task Force 5.
Along with the necessary workforce, they bring their fire trucks filled with water to help fight the blazes.
The lack of water available for firefighters creates some concern.
“It’s definitely something that is going to be taken into consideration with our strategy and tactics and where we are going,” Sanchez said. “Obviously this is not our neighborhood where we normally fight fires. So we are going to be relying heavily on the local departments that we are going to be assisting on knowing where good water sources are.”
Sanchez said he isn’t sure where his task force will be deployed yet, as they will get the assignment when they arrive. But he said they are glad to be able to provide aid to their fellow firefighters and the people in need.
