Jerome County Sheriff’s announces passing of beloved K9

JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — On Wednesday, the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office announced their K9, Boss, has died. Boss and handler, Lt. Bohling, began their journey together in 2017 until Boss retired in 2023. He was responsible for many drug arrests, arrests of dangerous criminals, protecting Lt. Bohling and most importantly, bringing happiness and joy to people in the community.
His biggest achievement was a traffic stop where he alerted the presence of illegal drugs in a vehicle. Troopers and Deputies found illegal drugs as well as rare and exotic snakes that are illegal to be in possession of. This led to the discovery of an illegal exotic animal trading ring.
After his retirement, he lived with his handler Lt. Bohling and enjoyed being spoiled. Boss will be missed for his wagging tail and puppy personality.
