Idaho’s gas prices match national prices

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — According to AAA, Idaho’s average gas price is the exact same as the U.S. average at $3.098. Although the prices are the same, there is an increase from last week, last month and last year. The Gem State’s gas is six cents higher than last week, two cents higher than last month and 20 cents higher than last year. Nationally, it’s two cents lower than last week, three cents more than last month and five cents less than a year ago.
Washington, Nevada, Oregon and Arizona neighbors are paying more per gallon than Idahoans while Utah, Montana, Colorado and Wyoming are paying less.
“Crude oil has dropped from $80 per barrel in mid-January to around $73 per barrel in just a matter of weeks,” says AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde. “The combination of lower crude oil costs and modest fuel demand will hopefully create a calming effect at the pump.”
Crude oil barrels are trading about 50 cents cheaper than last week, $1 less than a month ago and about the same as a year ago.
