PowerSchool data breach affects local schools

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — In an e-mail sent to Twin Falls School District parents, the system provider PowerSchool was part of the cybersecurity incident on December 28, 2024. The Twin Falls IT departments have been reviewing the access and as of now it doesn’t appear that the Twin Falls School District information was accessed. The district will communicate closely with PowerSchool to fully confirm if any Twin Falls School District information was accessed.

Other local school districts affected are Kimberly, Jerome, Filer and Wendell school districts.

Information that may have been involved for students and staff are; names, dates of birth, email addresses and phone numbers. Jerome and Kimberly do not store Social Security numbers. Filer states that some individuals across their base may have had sensitive data such as Social Security Numbers and medical information. Compromised data has been secured and they’re working to ensure the system is fully protected.
