Traffic safety grant applications available

BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — In 2024, data indicates that Idaho had 236 traffic-related fatalities. The Idaho Office of Highway Safety (OHS) is accept grant applications from communities to receive funding for ideas for improving traffic safety. Some areas the grants focus on are distracted driving, seatbelts, motorcycle safety and EMS post-crash care.

“Communities know their challenges best,” said Highway Safety Manager, Josephine Middleton. “These grants empower local organizations to create programs that promote safer behaviors and save lives.”

Applications and instructions are available at www.itd.idaho.gov/safety under “Grant Programs & Funding.” Applications are due by 5 p.m. MST on Friday, Feb. 14. Submit via email to ohsgrants@itd.idaho.gov or by mail to:
