Crash along U.S. Highway 93 causes traffic backup
*CORRECTION: Original article stated blue car was heading southbound and ran red light. The white car was the one that was heading southbound.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A two-vehicle crash caused a significant traffic backup along southbound U.S. Highway 93 on Saturday afternoon.
A blue SUV made a left turn westbound onto Golf Course Road from the highway around 3 p.m., according to the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office. A white SUV heading southbound down the highway ran a red light and crashed into the blue car.
The crash left the occupants of both vehicles with only minor injuries, with no one being transported to the hospital.
The crash blocked the right lane of southbound U.S. Highway 93, creating a backup for Saturday travelers that stretched toward the Interstate 84 interchange.
The scene has been cleared and traffic is flowing again down the southbound lanes.
The crash remains under investigation.
