GRANDJEAN, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Road crews closed Idaho Route 21 again on Friday due to a significant avalanche threat in the Grandjean area.
The state highway is closed from Grandjean to Banner Summit, extending from milepost 93.7 to milepost 105, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.
Crews closed the highway around 11:30 a.m. on Friday. It will remain closed until further notice, and crews will reassess conditions on Sunday morning at 7 a.m.
The closure follows the Sawtooth Avalanche Center’s listing of the avalanche danger in the area around Grandjean as high.
