Gas line breaks after driver hits black ice outside Wendell

WENDELL, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Repair crews were on the scene of a gas line break after a crash on Saturday morning.

At 6:50 a.m., a vehicle driving along East 3000 South crashed into a gas line around two miles east of Wendell after hitting a patch of black ice, according to the Gooding County Sheriff’s Office.

No evacuation order was put in place due to the break, according to the sheriff’s office. Only one nearby resident was asked to leave their residence.

East 3000 South was closed from South 2200 East to South 2100 East as workers repaired the line.

Crews completed repairs, the road is back open and gas has been turned back on, according to the sheriff’s office.
