One woman dead after car crash east of Declo
DECLO, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — One woman is dead after a crash east of Declo on Friday.
Emergency responders were dispatched at 11:40 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of South 950 East Road and Idaho Route 81, according to the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office. The collision involved a red Ford Escape and a blue Ford Explorer.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found a dead woman at the scene. The sheriff’s office stated that there were “multiple injuries,” but they did not share any other details.
The crash temporarily blocked traffic for around 20 minutes before deputies could divert traffic through private property, according to the sheriff’s office. Emergency responders cleared the scene at 2:12 p.m.
Mini-Cassia Search and Rescue Extrication, the Minidoka Memorial Hospital, and Declo Fire assisted deputies on scene.
The sheriff’s office will not release the names of anyone involved pending notification of the families.
The crash is currently under investigation.
