Twin Falls Reservoir Lowering For Inspections

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —Idaho power will be lowering the Twin Falls reservoir this Tuesday for an annual checkup on the dam.

For customers there will not be much notice, however if you visit twin falls park during the inspection, the falls will be flowing a little heavier, and people launching boats will have to use more caution. The inspection is to make sure the dam is looking good and in operating condition after 90 years of service

According to the outreach advisor at Idaho Power, the inspections are necessary for public safety.

“Idaho Power we believe in safety, right,” Miller said. “So we are going to take every precaution to make sure everything is in proper working condition, cause the safety of our employees, our customers, our friends, our neighbors. That’s what drives everything we do”

The inspection will only last a few hours, and the reservoir level will return to normal by Wednesday morning.
