Mountain Humane hosts winter festivities for local dog owners
HAILEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — On Saturday, Mountain Humane held the Paw n' Pole event in the Wood River Valley, where dog lovers people from across the area came to enjoy some winter festivities.
The event started at 11 a.m., and throughout the next few hours, participants took part in fur-tastic activities like canine skijoring, classic cross-country and skate ski races.
After the winter sports activities, they headed inside for a pet tricks showdown and a superhero costume contest.
The event’s goal was to bring the community together for some tail-wagging fun, which Executive Director of Mountain Humane Christine Ferguson said is very important to them.
“Because we are a nonprofit, we rely on the community basically to support our operations,” Ferguson said. “They are vitally important for financial reasons and also for finding new homes for our animals.”
Mountain Humane expanded their operations last year to include veterinary services, helping even more furry friends beyond their own.
