KETCHUM, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — For February, you can ski the slopes in Sun Valley for a good cause.

PK’s Ski and Sports is challenging skiers to ski down all the Baldy Mountain and Dollar Mountain runs.

The cost is only $30, and all the proceeds go to the Blaine County Charitable Fund, which helps support community housing across the area.

Doug Yates, owner of the retail section of PK’s Ski and Sports, discussed why doing these events for charity is essential.

“It’s extremely important especially with the housing crisis in our town right now,” Yates said. “We raised around $8,000 last year to donate to the same foundation, and we change every two years with different foundations. We feel good about it, and I think the rest of the town as well, and it really does make a big difference for certain individuals.”

If you would like to participate in the event, it runs until the end of February. Run cards can be purchased at PK’s Ski and Sports in Ketchum or Apple’s Bar and Grill next to the Warm Springs Day Lodge.
