Ski for Air Service Day
KETCHUM, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —
The Sun Valley Resort and Fly Sun Valley Alliance presented a special event on Sunday, where a limited amount of lift tickets costed only sixty dollars.
The discount allowed more people to come enjoy the slopes at the Sun Valley Resort while also supporting a good cause. All the proceeds from the discounts will support the Air Service at Sun Valley’s Friedman Memorial Airport. Carol Waller, director of fly sun valley alliance, talked about why it’s important to support the air service in the sun valley…
“Its very important, air service is critical to our community.” said Waller “Not only for our local residents to get in and out but also visitors, we are a tourism destination, and we support non-stop flights, we got non-stop flights to six destinations”
The tickets were good for skiing on either Baldy or Dollar mountains. KMVT talked to a skier about how it feels knowing the proceeds go to a good cause
“It’s really cool that Sun Valley does that, you know they do it every year.” Said Alexander Knight, a skier at the resort. “It makes me feel good that knowing that lift tickets are expensive, but they brought the price down and brought a bunch of people out and made it affordable and that it goes to a good cause”
The deal has been going on for more than a decade now, and it brings out skiers to enjoy the slopes.
