TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The 5A Great Basin Conference girl’s basketball tournament kicked off on Friday night at Twin Falls High School.

A rematch from the Great Basin title game a season ago, but on Friday night, it was a play-in game.

No. 4 Twin Falls and No. 5 Minico battled, but it was the Bruins who prevailed in the end, winning 47-33.

Shelby Stoots led the Bruins with 10 points in the win, while Leilani Ellis added eight. Hailee Norris and Valerie Black had six points each.

Kenlei Wageman paced the Spartans with 16 points.

Twin Falls advances and will play No. 1 Mountain Home on Friday.

Minic’s season comes to an end.
