GOODING, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —Sharon Metcalf, 77, a resident of Twin Falls and formerly of Gooding, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Twin Falls.
Sharon was born the second oldest of seven children in 1947 to her mother, Enid Irene (Morris) Mallory and father, William Mallory. She was born and raised in the state of Washington, educated by nuns and rooting for The Spokane Indians. She graduated from Edmonds Senior High School in June of 1965.
She married Stanford Metcalf on November 22, 1969, who she eventually for gave (for the most part) for ruining her prized Ford Mustang Mach 1 with his handyman skills.
Apart from raising her four children, Sharon moonlighted as a newspaper correspondent and rejoined the workforce in the late 80s and 90s. She was eventually promoted to HR Manager at Allied Clinical Laboratory in Utah and transitioned to the Medical Transcription field afterward until retirement.
An admirer of all animals great and small, Sharon Enjoyed doing various crafts to fill her free time – her “hobsessions” as she called them. She was bright, spirited in her beliefs, and a passionate writer.
She is survived by her daughter - Aimee (Gene) New and son - David; five brothers - David, Dennis, Mike, Bill; and sister - Yvone; grandchildren - Mallory (Drew) Cotten, Stephen (Pam) Frampton, Curtis (Alex) Frampton; Step-grandchildren - Tabitha New, Amie New, Wyatt New; great grandchildren - Kambri Frampton, Lillie Frampton, Sadie Frampton, Logan Frampton, Charlotte Cotten, Mason Frampton, and one due in July.
She is preceded in death by her parents - William & Enid; husband - Stanford; her oldest and youngest sons - Aaron and Adam; brother - Pat; and her beloved 40-lb cat, Mimi.
