Gov. Little declares Sept. as Idaho Preferred Month

BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Sept. has been declared as Idaho Preferred Month by Governor Little, cherishing the diverse locally-grown food available across Idaho. Throughout Sept., Idaho Preferred will partner with retailers to host sampling events showcasing Idaho produce and how they connect consumers with the best locally grown, raised, and crafted food.
“Our Idaho Preferred Program continues to champion Idaho agricultural producers,” said Chanel Tewalt, Director of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA).
“We have the honor of showing what makes Idaho agriculture exceptional and to connect producers and consumers. Idaho Preferred Month is an opportunity to highlight these important partnerships, especially with retailers who make it possible for consumers to access top-quality Idaho-grown products and support local farmers and ranchers.”
Idaho Preferred is an ISDA program and is a simple way to find locally grown Idaho foods which is enhanced with the Farm + Food Finder. This tool is a trusted resource to help find local and fresh products at stores in the Gem State.
