WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - President Trump says any Governor who doesn’t comply with any of his many executive orders – will soon pay the political consequences.

During a meeting at the White House with the nation’s governors, President Trump got into a verbal dispute with Maine Governor Janet Mills - over her refusal to block the participation of transgender athletes in women’s sports.

The back and forth between the president and the governor was caught on camera:

“You better do it because you’re not going to get federal funding,” Trump said. “We’re going to follow the law sir. We’ll see you in court,” she said. “Enjoy your life after governor because I don’t think you’ll be an elected official afterwards.”

The Education Department launched an investigation into Maine’s policies shortly after the president’s interaction with Governor Mills.

The President’s threat to withhold federal funding from Maine if the governor didn’t enforce his executive order came moments after the President reiterated his threat to impose 25 percent tariffs on any automobile that’s not manufactured in the U.S.

“As you know, we’re going to be announcing tariffs on cars from foreign countries at 25% probably April 2. I was going to do an April 1. A lot of money to wait one day. I don’t know. What do I do there? Pam, maybe I’ll you should. Maybe I’ll do it just April 1. A lot of money that extra day. But you figure what that does flip through April 2. Just don’t want to take the abuse.”

The President will most certainly discuss his planned tariffs next week when he meets with French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Ukraine is also likely on the agenda for those meetings. Monday marks three years since Russia’s invasion.
