WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - President-elect Donald Trump is pushing back against a just-released Special Counsel’s report that details allegations of Trump’s “criminal efforts to retain power.”

For weeks President-elect Trump tried to stop the Justice Department from releasing the Special Counsel’s report on allegations that Trump in 2020 tried to interfere with the peaceful transfer of power.

Early Tuesday morning, that report was made public and the former President is responding to the report’s claims.

Among the claims made by former Special Counsel Jack Smith, Trump put “pressure on state officials,” and put “pressure on the Vice President” Mike Pence to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Smith ultimately charged Trump with four counts, including obstruction of an official proceeding and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

Trump responded to the report’s publication. He posted on Truth Social that he was “totally innocent” and calling Smith “a lamebrain prosecutor who was unable to get his case tried before the Election.”

Smith concluded in his report that he believes his investigation of Trump would have resulted in a conviction had Trump lost the 2024 Presidential Election.

Volume two of Smith’s report about the discovery of classified documents at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate remains under wraps.
