President Joe Biden says, “There’s literally never been a more comprehensive effort from the federal government to spur innovation on women’s health research in our entire history.”
President Biden in the East Room touting the progress that’s been made in women’s health research - saying it affects not just women’s well-being – but also America’s prosperity.
First Lady Jill Biden also urged federal medical researchers to focus on the health of women and girls.
Dr. Biden added, “Be the researcher who makes sure that each proposal you work on considers women from the beginning.”
Wednesday’s White House conference comes a year after the Biden Administration launched an initiative aimed at closing the gap in women’s health research. The White House in a statement said funding gap has resulted in worse health consequences for women.
