Idaho Fish and Game seeking comment on big game season setting
JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — It might be the middle of winter but the Idaho Department of Fish and Game wants to hear feedback from hunters regarding big game seasons.
The public feedback period on Idaho Fish and Game’s “big game season setting proposals” opened Saturday, Feb. 8, and runs through Sunday, Feb. 23.
Big game here in Idaho includes: deer, elk, pronghorn, black bear, mountain lions and wolves.
John Guthrie, a regional habitat manager for Fish and Game goes more in-depth on what the department’s goals for this initiative are.
“But the bulk of this effort is focused on setting hunting seasons and bag limits, emphasis on the population there so large-scale management,” Guthrie said.
Fish and Game will be holding public comment meetings in Hailey, Burley, Mountain Home and Jerome.
Hailey- Feb. 11 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Community Campus, 1050 Fox Acres Rd.
Mtn. Home- Feb. 12 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mountain Home Jr. High, 1600 E. 6th St.
Burley- Feb. 13 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Burley Best Western, 800 N Overland Ave.
Jerome- Feb. 18 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Fish and Game Magic Valley Regional Office, 324 S. 417 East
