Doctor charged with murder after investigators claim he poisoned his wife with non-prescribed medication
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC/Gray News) – A 30-year-old doctor in Minnesota was arrested Friday after being accused of poisoning his wife in August.
Connor Bowman will be charged with second-degree murder, but a grand jury could elevate the charge to first-degree.
The Rochester Police Department was notified of a possible poisoning by the Mayo Clinic Medical Examiner’s Office.
Bowman’s 32-year-old wife allegedly went to the emergency room Aug. 16 for diarrhea and dehydration.
Her condition worsened during her time in the hospital, where she died four days later.
Authorities were tipped off that Bowman may have been involved. An investigation brought forward enough evidence and probable cause to charge him, according to police.
Capt. Casey Moilanen said Bowman allegedly gave his wife medication for ailments that neither he nor his wife suffered from.
Bowman used to work for poison control.
