2nd grader dies after collapsing at school playground, officials say
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC/Gray News) - A second-grade student in Tennessee died after she collapsed while at school earlier this week.
According to Libertas School of Memphis, a Montessori school located on Edenburg Drive, the student, later identified as 8-year-old Chloe Williams, was on the playground Monday when she suddenly collapsed.

School officials said several staff members rushed to help the girl and paramedics transported her to an area hospital.
Sadly, she did not survive.
Libertas Executive Director Bob Nardo said the cause of Chloe’s death remains unclear but it seemed to be from internal medical reasons.
“I hope we can join in prayer and support the family,” Nardo said.
Chloe’s mother shared that her daughter was a “ray of sunshine everywhere she went.” She enjoyed helping others and hoped to become a nurse when she got older.
Two fundraisers have been set up online to assist the family: Take Them a Meal and GoFundMe for funeral costs.
