MONROE, La. (KNOE/Gray News) - Tarver Braddock’s family is keeping his name alive by spreading kindness wherever they go.

Lindsey Braddock started the Tarver Braddock Foundation in 2024 after her son, Tarver, tragically died in a deer camp accident in January 2024.

She says 16-year-old Tarver was all about spreading happiness and the foundation keeps her son’s name alive through random acts of kindness.

“It is so special for him to be remembered, but also so hard,” Lindsey said.

Lindsey and Patrina Riley joined forces to spread kindness to a neighbor across town.

Ericka Carter had some unexpected bills come up, and it’s made for a tough year. The single mother works a full-time job and does nails from her home.

Lindsey and Patrina visited their new nail tech at her home.

“Let me tell you a story. This is my son, Tarver. I am Lindsey. Let me give you a hug,” Lindsey told Ericka.

That’s when they shared the news with Ericka that her rent had been paid for the rest of the year.

Ericka said the foundation is truly making a difference in the community.

“They think about the small people. They think about the little people,” she said. “I hate that he had to lose his life to make this foundation happen.”

Ericka isn’t the only one who has been blessed by the memory of Tarver.

Since its creation, the Tarver Braddock Foundation has given out more than $111,000 in scholarships, sponsorships and surprise gifts.

You can find more information about the foundation online at the Tarver Braddock Foundation website.
