Bystander rescues a dog from a group of children seen throwing rocks at him

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT/Gray News) - A dog in Kentucky is recovering after he was rescued from a group of children who were abusing him.

According to the Lexington Humane Society, the children were seen throwing rocks at a dog, whom they are calling Rudy, over and over again.

The Humane Society said a bystander saw the abuse and intervened before rushing Rudy to the shelter.

Rudy’s jaw was injured, several of his bottom teeth were uprooted and his legs were covered in puncture wounds, according to the shelter.

Rudy is now on his way to recovery at the shelter.
