Man says wife shot dog out of jealousy of the attention he gave it
SYCAMORE, Ill. (WIFR/Gray News) - A man in Illinois said his wife shot their dog because she was jealous of the attention he gave it, according to officials.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said 52-year-old Tracy Picciariello has been charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal.
On Tuesday, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from Picciariello saying she shot her dog the previous night during an argument with her husband.
Deputies said the husband told them the argument he had with his wife was about her being jealous of the attention he gave the family pets.
Investigators said Picciariello’s husband later shot the dog to put it down.
Picciariello was taken to the DeKalb County Jail.
