PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) - A missing nurse was found dead while vacationing in Hungary, according to authorities.

Budapest Police said 31-year-old Mackenzie “Kenzie” Michalski was last spotted at a Budapest nightclub on Nov. 5 before disappearing.

Police said investigators “noticed several suspicious circumstances” about her disappearance and later identified a 37-year-old Irish man she was seen with in several clubs.

During interrogation, the man allegedly showed investigators where he hid Michalski’s body, Budapest police said.

He remains in police custody.

Michalski was a neurosurgery nurse practitioner at Providence St. Vincent.

Providence released a statement saying they are “deeply saddened” by the news of her death.

The U.S. State Dept. released a statement saying they are working with the U.S. Embassy in Budapest and police there.
