BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — House Bill 37, which would change Idaho’s primary method of execution to firing squad, has passed the Senate on a 28-7 vote on Wednesday.
Under the bill, the primary form of execution would change from lethal injection to a firing squad. The director of the Idaho Department of Correction would have no more than five days after a death warrant is issued to determine if a firing squad is available.
If a firing squad is not available, execution would return to lethal injection.
