Behind the Business: Antojos Eatery and Café
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —Whether you want to go on a coffee date with friends or get a family lunch, a Twin Falls Café has a variety of food for whatever occasion.
“We watch people’s kids grow up like you know, it’s just kid of a cool experience to bond with the community,” Ismenia Gallegos-Sutton, one of the owners of Antojos Eatery and Café said.
Antojos Eatery and Café has been serving the Twin Falls community for about two years now.
You’ll find it along Blue Lakes Boulevard, just north of Kimberly road.
Ismenia Gallegos-Sutton is one of the owners and talked about how her mom started this dream, ”This originally started with her. This is kind of her dream and we’re just kind of continuing it on for her and with her too, and with both my parents."
Antojo’s serves traditional Mexican dishes from breakfast to dinner, “From burritos, quesadillas, nachos, crepes, salads, pastries,” Daniela Rojas Jauregui, Ismenia’s cousin who also works at the café, explained.
If you have a sweet tooth, they offer crepes, with a special Latin twist, “Maybe they have French origins, but we throw our chili in there,” Gallegos-Sutton said.
The word “antojo” means craving in English and that’s what inspired the name.
“I’m craving this I’m craving that, where do they have it? Like it’s all the way in Boise or everything’s closed. So like, let’s try to have something where it’s more of café hours and there’s a variety of that,” Jauregui explained.
The owner’s goal was to create a unique vibe that wasn’t in Twin Falls.
“We felt like we needed a little something fresh and people to the Mexican community to especially needed somewhere to go enjoy their breakfast or brunch with their gals,” Gallegos-Sutton stated.
Antojos is also family-focused, both in who works there and who they serve.
Something they say makes being part of the community even more special.
“A family is stronger and we understand that serving to a community that’s family, we kind of get that idea where it’s better service and we try to make our quality better,” Jauregui said.
Antojos is located 170 Blue Lakes Blvd, and is open Monday through Thursday from 7am-7pm, Friday and Saturday 7am - 8pm and closed Sunday
