Neiwert, Jake Beni
January 31, 2025, Age 24
RUPERT, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Jake Beni Neiwert, age 24, left this earth too soon on Friday, January 31, 2025, at his home in Rupert.
Jake was born November 9, 2000, in Burley, Idaho, the son of Lane Allen Neiwert and Karlynn Mari Gonzales. He had a huge heart, and we all loved him very much. His nieces and nephews admired him and enjoyed spending time with him. Jake was their world! He loved to laugh and joke with everyone and was quite the comedian at times.
Unfortunately, he did have demons he was struggling with as he tried to navigate his way on this earth. He suffered immensely from depression and drugs. Depression can kill, so keep your family close and try to help those who suffer from this awful disease. Jake, we hope you have found the peace and happiness you deserve. We all love you!
Jake is survived by his mother, Karlynn Gonzales; brother, Alan (Felisha) Neiwert; two sisters, Masina (Skip) Garza and Shaleena (Juan) Gonzalez; paternal grandmother, Sylvia Neiwert; maternal grandmother, Dorothy “Dottie” Gonzales; his aunts, Tammy French and Bonnie (Kim) Johnstone; five nieces; three nephews; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and nine cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Lane Neiwert; paternal grandfather, Clarence Neiwert; maternal grandfather, Beni Gonzales; two aunts, Kuala Dúmé and Melanie Farmer; an older sister, Melinda Rose Garza; and a great-nephew, Atreüs Denton.
Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 13, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th Street, Burley.
A celebration to honor his life will be held at Doc’s Pizza in Rupert on Saturday, February 15, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Jake was a huge L.A. Lakers fan, so please feel free to wear Lakers attire to both the viewing on Thursday and the celebration on Saturday.
The family suggests memorials be directed to a charity of choice in Jake’s name.
