TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Monday was Presidents’ Day, but there was plenty of high school basketball action across the Magic Valley as many boys district tournaments tipped off.

Glenns Ferry and Raft River matched up in the four-five matchup in 2A and this game came down to the wire as it was tied at 46 late in the fourth.

But some timely shooting from Alan Mesillas gave the Pilots a three point lead and some solid free throw shooting iced the game as Glenns Ferry picked up an upset win over the Trojans and will play top-seed and undefeated Valley on the road Wednesday night.

Moving up to 4A, Filer and Gooding squared off in the two-three matchup and this game was as back and forth as it can get as neither team was able to pull away in the first half and the Senators went to the break up two.

But in the second half the home team turned things around and managed to power their way to a slim 62-59 win over Gooding setting up what should be a great matchup against Kimberly in the winner’s final on Wednesday at the College of Southern Idaho.
