BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Cassia County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam targeting people in the county.

Callers pretending to be from the sheriff’s office, the courthouse or other government agencies call people and tell them to pay a fine or face arrest or a crime charge, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office reminded citizens that no government agency would call to ask for money. The sheriff’s office advised people to call 208-878-2251 if they received these calls to document and investigate them.
