Man facing sexual abuse charges in Jerome County

JEROME COUNTY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A Utah man is facing sexual abuse charges in Jerome County.

28-year-old Khristofer Manhard is charged with sexual abuse of a vulnerable adult and felony rape.

Investigators believe the victim was incapable through unsoundness of mind due to the disability of giving legal consent, according to the amended criminal complaint. And/or the victim could not resist because it would be futile or may result in force or violence beyond that necessary to accomplish the prohibited contact.

The alleged incident occurred in September 2023, but Manhard was officially charged in June 2024, according to court documents.

Since then, Manhard has had multiple preliminary hearings to continue, and he is due back in court on Feb. 13th at 9 a.m.
