TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —With Idaho Republican Firehouse Caucus this Saturday around the state; and the presidential election in November, the U.S. District Attorney of Idaho’s Office is making an effort to protect voting rights and secure elections.

During the election process many people can feel intimidated, scared or threatened with who they’re voting for.

There are many ways that an election can be at risk, such as bribing voters, impersonating voters and stuffing ballot boxes.

The Department of Justice has made it their mission this election year to protect voters and make sure it is a fair election.

U.S. Attorney for the District of Idaho, Josh Hurwit explains the practices they’re putting in place, “So physical security at any polling locations is the responsibility first and foremost of local law enforcement, so we work with them if there any issues, but hopefully the resources we’re putting out on our website on our press release gives voters a sense of what their rights are but also how to contact law enforcement.”
