TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — It’s national voter registration day and with the election less than two months away local officials want to make sure you know what you’ll need to vote.

The Twin Falls County Clerk’s Office said you can register by either going down to their office or going online to vote Idaho dot gov. before you head to the polls -- make sure you have a photo ID, like your drivers license, a passport, or a concealed weapons license.

You’ll also need proof of residency and your drivers license must have your current address on it.

County Clerk Kristina Glascock said if you move and need to update your address, there are some things you can use to show proof of residency.

“You can use a mortgage, a lease, a rental agreement. Property tax assessment or bill. Utility bill, except for a cellphone bill. A bank or credit card statement, paystub an intake document to a care facility and an enrollment letter into an Idaho High School or University or a letter from a social service agency,” Glascock said.

October 11th is the deadline to pre-register if you want to receive an absentee ballot. You can wait until election day to register and you can vote same day, but you will need your ID and proof of residency.

A reminder, election day is November 5th.
