Man charged with child sex crimes in two counties
JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A 20-year-old man faces child sex crime charges in two different counties in the Magic Valley.
Isaiah Silvaz is charged in Jerome County with attempted lewd conduct with a child under 16, according to court records. He is also charged in Twin Falls County with lewd conduct with a child under 16.
In the early morning of Jan. 20, a Jerome County deputy responded to a report of a possible attempted rape near Jerome, according to court documents. After being read his Miranda rights, Silvaz admitted to trying to have lewd conduct with a minor.
The documents reveal that during the initial investigation, Silvaz also admitted to having lewd conduct with a minor in Twin Falls around December 2023. Silvaz contended that the act was consensual, but the victim denies that claim.
Deputies placed Silvaz under arrest and booked him into the Jerome County Jail.
Silvaz posted his $50,000 Jerome County bond but has a $250,000 Twin Falls County bond, according to court records. He is currently booked into the Twin Falls County Jail.
Silvaz will appear for a preliminary hearing in Jerome County Magistrate Court on March 20 and in Twin Falls County Magistrate Court on March 21.
