Idaho officials release statements on the shooting of Trump

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Idaho officials released statements over X regarding the shooting of Donald Trump.

According to the Associated Press, Trump was shot during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, this evening. The shooter and one attendee are dead. The shooting is being investigated as an assassination attempt.

Lt. Governor Bedke’s statement is as follows: “There is no place for such violence in our democratic process. I commend the quick action of the Secret Service, and wish President Trump a swift recovery.”

“Resorting to violence is never acceptable, and words should always supersede our actions.

President Trump deserves our admiration and respect. His family and our nation demand our prayers in this time of need.”

Gov. Little said he is “Praying for President Trump, his family, and our nation.”

Crappo also released a statement on X.

“An apparent assassination attempt against a former President and current candidate for the President of the United States is beyond enraging and wholly un-American,” Crappo said. “I am praying for Donald Trump and hope he will recover expeditiously.”

Risch said that he is also praying for Trump.

“The apparent attempt on President Trump’s life in Pennsylvania is absolutely horrific,” said Risch. “Vicki and I are praying for President Trump and all those injured in today’s despicable incident.”
