TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but what about the frame around it?

For many people in the Magic Valley, the frame hanging on their wall may have come from the same place, “Professional Frame.”

In the heart of the Main Street Plaza in downtown Twin Falls, you’ll find a master at work, Ron Hicks. Hicks has been making professional frames for the past 50 years.

“I started helping my dad in his frame shop and it just gradually evolved into me taking over the frame shop and expanding it into what it is today.”

Each frame is its own work of art, helping bring to life a masterpiece, something that Hicks says has kept him framing all these years.

“The challenge of it and the creativity of it. And just seeing what people want to hang on their walls and what they cherish enough to frame. It’s just really exciting and different from any kind of profession a person can have,” Hicks says. For him, his business is about offering a ‘picture perfect’ experience for every customer.

“I care very much about every single piece of work that comes in here and it all gets treated exactly the same” As Hicks now sets his sights on retirement, he is hoping to find someone to carry on his legacy and passion.

“I’d love for somebody to be able to do that and that they can enjoy it as much as I can, as much as I do, for as long as I have.”
