BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Good news for Idaho drivers as gas prices dropped slightly since last week.

The average price for a gallon of regular in Idaho dropped to $3.16. The new price is 3 cents cheaper than last week, 7 cents more than last month, and 4 cents less than last year.

The national average for gas prices currently hovers around $3.10 a gallon. The national price is 5 cents cheaper than last week, the same price as last month, and 25 cents less than last year.

“The cost of crude oil was in the low $70 range for all of February. That kind of stability, coupled with quiet fuel demand, was enough to help pump prices inch lower,” said AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde.

Conde said that there is a chance for another price drop this week, but spring break and the upcoming road trip season will soon figure into the equation.
