TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —Instead of going to the emergency room, urgent care provides treatment for illnesses and non life-threatening injuries.

When summer injuries or illnesses happen, there are times you can go to urgent care instead of going to the emergency room.

Many conditions can be treated faster and can be more affordable when opting to go to urgent care.

Urgent care provides a nurse and registered nurse that can determine whether you can be treated in the urgent care center or need to be transferred to the ER.

“Typical sutures, basic sprains and fractures that don’t need surgery to fix them, low-level car accidents, typical summer injuries burns, sprains and strains rashes, easy kind of allergies, colds, flu’s and the like. Emergency rooms are really those higher level acuity or higher level illness type of issues,” Dr. Martha Taylor, of St. Luke’s Magic Valley Urgent Care, said.

Urgent care is right next door, on the side to the St. Luke’s magic valley hospital.
