POCATELLO, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — An undefeated season, multiple back-to-back champions, one winner stopping his opponent from being a four-time state champion and a senior returning from a broken neck to win?!? The Idaho high school state wrestling tournament had it all when it came to our Magic Valley athletes.

Sean Hall of Canyon Ridge was the only boys 6A competitor at the state tournament and he did his part in representing the Riverhawks as he denied Post Falls senior Rider Seguine the chance to be a four-time champion.

Hall led 6-1 after the first period and managed to ride it out to an 8-2 win.

The Minico Spartans reign of dominance on the team side ended this season as they fell just three points short of Bishop Kelly for the championship.

The Spartans put four wrestlers through to the championship match, but unfortunately all were defeated.

Perfection is something some people strive for, but Declo’s Wallace Durfee can say he literally is after capping off a 34-0 senior season with his third state championship in a row.

Glenns Ferry produced two state champions this year despite being one of the smallest schools sending wrestlers to the tournament.

Gabe Muilenburg, like Durfee, won a state championship in his senior season for his third overall and he will be wrestling in college next year at Colorado State University-Pueblo. He leaves behind a legacy at Glenns Ferry that includes the school record for most state championships.

Henry Thomas is just a junior for the Pilots and he won his first state championship in a 10-2 decision and he already said he has plans to be back next season to defend his title.
