CSI baseball run-ruled Treasure Valley in both games of a doubleheader

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The CSI baseball team had a pretty good Friday afternoon.

CSI (13-8) took both games of a doubleheader against Treasure Valley Community College.

CSI run-ruled Treasure Valley Community College 11-1 after scoring six runs in the fifth inning.

Jack Barker and Crew Secrist each had three hits for CSI. Barker had three RBIs, including a triple.

Tayson Howard and Brexten Starley each had two RBIs in game one.

Shay Benson got the win through five innings, allowing three hits and one earned run. He had seven strikeouts.

CSI continued its hot hitting into game two, run-ruling Treasure Valley 8-0 in eight innings.

Howard was 2-4 with a two-run triple. Trey Purser was 2-3 with a solo home run.

Braxton Yates gets the win on the mound. He pitched seven innings, allowing eight hits and zero earned runs. He had four strikeouts.

CSI closes the four-game series with Treasure Valley on Saturday, with games set for noon and 2 p.m.
