CSI Lady Golden Eagles to host Region tournament with win over Snow College, Men’s team falls to top-ranked Badgers Thursday night

EPHRAIM, Utah (KMVT/KSVT) — The College of Southern Idaho basketball teams were back in action Thursday night.
CSI traveled to Snow College for its penultimate games of the season.
The Lady Golden Eagles (22-7, 10-4 SWAC) extended its win streak to four, beating the Badgers 81-68.
CSI clinches a share of the Scenic West Athletic Conference and will host the Region 18 Tournament.
Savannah Stoker was a spark plug off the bench with a game-high 23 points on 9-15 shooting. She also had seven rebounds in the win.
Alina Sapilak scored 17 on 7-12 shooting, and Samara Morrow was also in double figures, scoring 11.
CSI shot just over 46 percent as a team.
The men’s team (20-8, 8-5 SWAC) followed but didn’t have the same luck against No. 1 Snow College, losing 85-63.
After trailing by six at the break, CSI struggled in the second half, only shooting 27 percent in the half as well as just over nine percent from beyond the arc.
Amarco Doyle scored 25 points off the bench, leading the Golden Eagles. Tanner Hayhurst was also in double figures with 12 points.
Both Golden Eagles squads will finish the regular season on Saturday against Utah State University Eastern on the road.
