The Pirates opened the game on a 7-3 run with scores from Ky Kendall, Will Mavencamp, and Martin Gonzalez. Hagerman led 18-11 after a quarter.

Oakley came out firing in the second quarter as sophomore Jackson Rice knocked down three-straight three-pointers as the Hornets would close the half on a 14-2 run and lead 22-20 at the break.

The Hornets would lead by as many as seven in the third before Hagerman would tie the game at 31 entering the fourth quarter.

In the final minute of regulation, Hagerman’s Alex Johnson and Oakley’s Dallin Hardy would trade free throws, leading to a 45-45 tied game with 18 seconds to go.

Hagerman would have the last shot as Johnson had a look inside but couldn’t finish.

In overtime, Kendall would get his mojo going, knocking down a pair of big shots, including a three-ball, to give Hagerman a four-point lead.

Hardy would continue for Oakley to find success inside with a pair of buckets as well.

Leading by two with a minute to go, Gonzalez would bury a three as Hagerman would then play the free throw game and hold on for the win.

Casen Knight would add eight points and eight rebounds.

Rice would finish with a game-high 29 points while Hardy had 13.
