Valley, Declo boys’ basketball highlight final state media poll

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The final boys’ high school state media poll is in as the season begins to come to a close.

Many Magic Valley teams stand out, including the Valley Vikings in 2A, who will enter the state tournament a perfect 22-0.

The Vikings won its second straight Snake River Championship earlier in the week, beating Hagerman 69-51. They will either be the top overall seed or No. 2 at State.

In 3A, Declo also remains the top team in the polls but has yet to clinch a spot in the state tournament.

The Hornets (22-1) will play West Jefferson on Saturday at American Falls High School. The winner advances to the state tournament.

Wendell, however, won the 3A South East Idaho Championship on Wednesday over Soda Springs 55-39 and will fight for a state championship next weekend. They finish third in the edia poll

Down in 1A, Dietrich caps off its undefeated conference season with its first Sawtooth Championship since 2021, beating Carey 72-50 on Wednesday night.

Dietrich finishes the year No. 3 in the media poll with Carey at four.
