CSI baseball records pair of wins
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles baseball team was in action this weekend and they looked to improve on a split in Friday’s doubleheader.
In the first game on Saturday, CSI took on Utah State University-Eastern and absolutely smacked the Eagles in a 15-2 win despite putting up only three hits.
Outfielder Jack Barker and designated hitter Crew Secrist each hit 2-RBI doubles in the second and third innings for hits one and two on the afternoon, and catcher Kolton Hicks slapped a 2-RBI triple also for the final hit.
The Golden Eagles walked 14 times in this game and Bryce Intagliata picked up the win on the mound going all five innings in the run-rule win.
In game two against Treasure Valley Community College CSI continued the offensive outburst scoring in each of the first four innings in an 8-4 win.
Left fielder Jack Barker went 4-for-4 with an RBI and centerfielder Mack Evans went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in the bottom of the third for his third RBI of the game.
Starting pitcher Mason Hartle struck out nine batters in four innings as he picked up the win on the mound and CSI improved to 11-8 on the year as a team.
