TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Military families move from state to state and often must adjust quickly to their new surroundings. The Idaho State Department of Education has a new resource to help military-connected people.

The supporting military families’ webpage is now available. It aims to facilitate the transfer of things like immunizations and credits.

“Military students transfer from school to school a significant amount of time,” said the Director of Eastern Idaho Regional Support Center, Spencer Barzee. “Really the intention of the website is just to assist school districts and parents with additional resources that can help those military kiddos make that transition easier.”

This website also aims to help the military around Idaho get needed resources. While most are centered around Mountain Home, they are all over the state.

“We just want the military kids to be taken care of in Idaho for sure, that subpopulation,” Barzee said. “Obviously most of those are going to be in the Mountain Home area but that Air Force base does expand from Mountain Home into to Boise and out to Glenns Ferry. It goes east and west quite a ways.”

Idaho will expand its resources as Stephensen Elementary on the Mountain Home Air Force Base is set to become the state’s first purple star school this year.
