TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Looking your best is a big deal when heading back to school and luckily for kids and parents a new business in Buhl is teaming up with Southern Idaho Plumbing to offer local kids free back-to-school haircuts.

Dapper Den, located at 130 Broadway Avenue North in Buhl opened their doors for business back on May 1 of this year and aim to provide quality cuts and styles for all their clients.

Since we are still a few weeks out from the beginning of school parents are getting their children ready with supplies, clothing and more but you can’t forget about the fresh haircut.

And Dapper Den will be offering free cuts to school-age children this upcoming weekend and they touched on the inspiration for this idea.

“I think community, we’ve had a lot of good examples in this community of people that want to do good, and I think when you own a small business you want to be a part of that community that gives. I think that’s really important, and kids get overlooked sometimes and I think that sending a kid to school with a clean haircut and confidence might make it or break it for the whole year,” Eric Whalen, owner of Southern Idaho Plumbing said.

The two hairdressers at Dapper Den also shared their excitement for supporting their community and invited anyone to come by.

“Any kids can come from anywhere, we have a lot of community support here, but we don’t do a lot for the kids. Like Twin Falls kids, they have a lot of stuff going on over there and Buhl doesn’t really get that over here, so,” Shana Stevens, the owner of Dapper Den said.

Dapper Den and Southern Idaho Plumbing have set aside Friday, Aug. 9 and Saturday, Aug. 10 for the free haircut days and all you have to do is stop in between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Friday or Saturday from 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
